I understand, but are there any typical reasons? My prevous car, a BMW, had this light blinking constantly but the dealer had no clue why. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE i6

ITS AN AUTOMATIC NORMAL FUNCTION FOR THE FREELANDER 2. IT MEANS ITS TIME TO SEE YOUR ROBBING DEALER THIS WEEK LAMP AND IT MAY COME ON MOST WEEKS,THE DEALERS WILL WRITE TO YOU FOR RECALLS AND UPDATES IF YOUR LAMP IS LESS FREQUENT THAN THE REST OF US!!!!!

In a gasoline engine, the most frequent cause for this light to go off is emission related.

Thanks Alex for the serious answer... My wife, who mostly drives the car, just reported loss of power. A problem with injector or mixture could probably lead to loss of power? 2007 Freelander 2 HSE i6

The darned light went off just before I turned into dealer's parking lot... Diagnostics showed that there had been a problem with the gas pump; not enough pressure. Dealer said I should call road service next time around so that the car doesn't "fix itself" meanwhile. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE i6
