Kwikfit changed my front tyres today.

mmm...new Wranglers - 47,000 on the factory fitted originals and just a shade under 3mm left, so I was quite pleased with that.

I asked them if they could hide the weights on the back of the rim so as not to spoil the look of the alloys.
Ok, so they are only the standard GS one's but I like them.

Nice discreet job eh? The near side one has fallen off already so they will be seeing me again on Tuesday.

For spot on balancing weights should be fitted to both inner and outer rims especially on wide wheel/low profile combinations and also tyres with chunky tread patterns. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

How many 1000s of miles have people been getting from the Continental tyres fitted to the 19" Shadow wheels?

I'm coming up to 13,000 now, and will probably need a new set by 15/16,000.
Is this normal or quite poor?

I've also found that the front tyres are wearing considerably more on the outside edge of the tyre.
Again, is this normal or is it purely down to driving style etc.

My Continentals are nearing change time and I have done 22000 odd.
The fronts are also worn on the outside edge.
