Unfortunately this does not cover the XS TD4. Can anyone tell me when this was introduced to the UK, prices, specs etc

Hadn't got round to it (sorry), but they're all stored somewhere on my work laptop hopefully - I'm making the wild assumption you're talking UK cars, not weirdy RHD imports from the Irish Republic, Malta or Cyprus?

Thanks for all your comments on this and other posts. Have gone for a 2009 MY Freelander 2 XS with auto box. Only other difference I've noticed from Natwests post is no heated seats. Thanks for your help
