Be careful fitting non-standard tyres and spacers, you'll almost certainly void your warranty on certain items (e.g. suspension, wheel bearings, etc) and you'll need to tell your insurance company.

Thanks for the replies folks but putting aside the fact that a few forum members don't exactly agree with my decision, nobody has actually answered the original question!! ...........Is it possible to actually fit the bigger tyre and still drive the car unhindered? |

Have a look here. Someone has put 255 tyres on the FL2 19" rims.

Hi, I have now found this site that has a tyre size calculator, http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html You will see that you can now move up to a 255x50x19 and this has only a very slight size increase of 3mm in the tyre height, this won't affect the running of the car.

I would not do it, there is no advantage in doing so. Like others, I am just interested to know why you would want to do this.

Yet another modification cynic.................the reason would be purely aesthetic as the idea would be to make the car look more aggresive. Several companies have been spoken to and this is possible WITHOUT all the problems you mention..................... |

I'm sure the companies might be correct in what they say, but bear in mind they want your money so will (in my opinion) say what you want to hear Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |
