Cornwall the wettest ever

Down in Cornwall and it must be the wettest holiday I have ever had

it's rained every day only managed to get to the beach once Rolling Eyes

Also played it safe and took down the awning as today is forcasted gust upto 49mph Shocked

So I guess it's a tour round all the indoor play areas around the Padstow area ( recomendations welcome) Very Happy

Also what's the max wind recommended for an awning 100% pegged down and with storm straps Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

sorry to hear about the crap weather npinks. I was North Devon for 10 days end of June/start of July and never saw any rain, just 1 day that was overcast, think I dropped lucky! Worst holiday for me was in July 2007 when heading home on the Friday night I got stuck on the M5 in the floods, took me 14 hours to get from Gloucester to Birmingham! (if I had my FL2 I could have drove through them but instead I was in a BMW 4 inches off the ground!)

Must be something about Cornwall, we were there this time last year (south coast at Fowey) and we had the most wet and wind holiday ever. Not too bad for us because kids are somewhat older. We were on a cliff top site and I was persuaded to put the full size awning up. To be fair it took the battering without a problem, but that didn't stop me worrying about it. If you are fully pegged down and have a storm strap too then that's about as much as you can do.

Good luck keeping the kids amused. The little port of Charlestown is a great place to visit, perhaps not the most kiddy focused attraction but plenty to see in the old town port. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

I am just back today from 2 weeks in mid-Wales - 'vanning. 1 week in the Builth Wells area, and 1 week in the Elan Valley. Wales is "green" for a reason! It was bucketing down Rolling Eyes The stream we were camped next to was a raging torrent when we left this morning. The drive home was torrential Crying or Very sad

Still, some great hill-walking and the dogs have had the time of their lives Laughing

Highly recommend this site outside Builth Wells - http://www.fforestfields.co.uk Chris

Never mind that it Censored it down here today, even my normally well behaved pdc sensors didnt like the downpour Evil or Very Mad

Big floods of water all over the farm I even had to use the slurry tanker to suck up water prevent water getting into the chicken sheds. The little fellows are only a few days old and don't really like getting flooded

Oh dear, what bad luck. Hope the blowout wasn't too dramatic, it's the one think I've always dreaded while towing. He who dies with the most tools wins!

You weren't at the front of the queue when they where handing out luck where you Confused ( or looks Laughing )

I hate towing stuff because I've had this sort of stuff happen to me before. I've recently bought a new diesel bowser that fits in the rear of my pickup rather than tows behind, to avoid further towing problems, and because the old one was illegal Whistle At work

I was actually making really good progress travelling at 65mph and had just said to the wife that we was making good time....

I would 100% recommend Tyron* bands for anybody who tows. Travelling at 65mph and the caravan kept straight behind the car with not a single hint of a sway or loss of control Bow down

I got mine on when I saw a caravan send itself and it's towcar into the central reservation from the slow lane a few years before buying a caravan Shocked
