New to forum with question

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else had encountered the following. When driving with the Terrain response system on - over a (pretty tame) field, I noticed a grind noise, seemingly coming from the wheels; is this normal?

Thanks

If you had it in mud/ruts then it is the hill descent control, a truly noisy contraption but quite normal. its just the brakes moving on an off but in a very noisy style At work

Thanks Chicken, it was indeed in mud ruts. So HDC always kicks in automatically when using mud ruts?
To be honest i didnt need to use it but just wanted to give it a go!

Off topic, last weekend a road near me was severly flooded, the X3 infront of me avoided it like the plague and the CRV a couple of cars back did the same. I drove through it at speed like the kid I am. Why is it only LR drivers don't seem to mind getting their cars dirty. its the same when driving down tight country lanes - other 4X4 drivers avoid the verge but if I encounter LR coming the other way they love it.
