Had a strange problem with the clutch today. Pushed the pedal down ...and it didn't come back up, until I pulled it back up by hand. I tried a few more times and it was the same. After several repetitions it became clear the the pedal would return on its own but only after at least five seconds.

Yep, its fine. Clutch is operating correctly in as much as engaging - disengaging is concerned its just the the pedal wont return, I have a feeling it is something to do with the pedal mechanism/linkages causing some sort of resistance... watch this space. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor ... but not any more ... ... psst look at my gallery! Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013. |

At my works place we run a few Renault Master vans and they suffer with the same problem, on them it is the clutch fork sticking. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Problem has settled down now, clutch pedal feels very odd, its is very slow to return but has stopped jamming in the down position (so don't need the retrieve cable any more!). Pedal takes about two seconds to return if pressed fully down. Its a pain but as long as it doesn't get any worse, it's only got to last two more weeks then it wont be my problem.

Is there not a return spring on the pedal as well as on the clutch actuating lever ______________________
