Insurance help, please.

Just had my renewal from LG, £548 gone up £35 from last year.
Phoned, NFU, £924
Live in North Norfolk, no claims for over 30 years, still got 12 points to spend.
Any tips, please.

I paid £235 with privelidge last year same FL2 as yours. They say insurance is now going down??? 2013 FL2 XS.

We paid £235 this Feb with LV. (was £305 last year)
Max protected NCD, Fully Comp, 6K miles, SDP only. Retired, Rural Warwickshire. Not garaged. Towbar included. Jules

Jules, that doesn't make any sense to me. Our quote is for 10,000 miles. I might give LV a buzz to find out why there is such a big difference.

LV told me to suck it up. Looks like I would pay £313 for an extra 4000 miles.

Looks like it’s a case of “LV taking the P” as far as I am concerned….!

Max protected NCD, Fully Comp, 12k miles, SDP, Retired, Rural Oxfordshire, Not garaged. Tow bar included.
Extras : EU B/down Cover £190 , 2 Drivers, Additional Personnal Injury £48, Legal Cover £40

It seems like they pick the figures out of thin air……will be doing price comparison for renewal June 25.
Been with LV for about 8 years…..they were reasonable, not so sure now…. FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current
D2 TD5 HSE Man MY 1999 470kmls….gone 2014 ….lovely engine..chassis rotten
D1 300TDI Man MY 1996 56kmls….gone 1999…D2 much better
Wife’s FL1 1.8P MY 2001 32kmls …gone 2007…has Mini since.

Welcome to the Club.

I am 83 and the only driver, and only one car (FL2).

For a decent insurance cover with SAGA I pay about £1300.

They explained that I am a high risk because of my age and the fact I am now the only driver in household, I might be tempted to drive whilst tired or in ill health? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 82k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Same for me LV for a number of years until 2022 and then blew me out of the water with a mega hike!
now I do a comparison check and go whichever one seems resonable.
Retired, 78, member of the I.A.M. car kept on road, 59 years driving, but liveing in busy east kent DAVE.
