Roof bar locations and replacement key

Couple of queries:

I had roof bars professionally fitted and was disappointed to see them so close together - the rear one is less than a metre from the front. Is there an option to move the rear one more towards the back? I presume there must be a mounting point there for the roof rails.
Also, what is the go-to solution for getting a second key fob for a 2014 TD4 in Aus?

TIA

Steve

I think you will need to knock up a custom bracket to mount on the rear mounting position.

Just pull up the black plastic strip & compare with the other mounting position.

I had a look at my car as best as I could. Everything is bolted on for corrugated roads.

Your roof rack bars are fitted to the correct position.

There are another 3 positions for roof rail's front, centre & rear bolts into the roof. So you could utilise these with a custom bracket.

I noticed on the internet one of the roof platform set-ups is using the 4 rear mounting positions (not the one at the very front, for the roof rails).

Using the Land Rover roof rails you can have a cross bar spacing of 1135mm (centre to centre). Mine are a little over at 1170mm but 85% of the cross bar clamp is still on the rail's aluminium extrusion. Also I am using 4 cross bars. But each of the 2 cross bars are solid as can be.
