Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
Stuck rear wiper

2010 HSE auto. Had the stuck wiper blade problem. Stopped at about 10 degrees off vertical.
Had similar before on a D2.
Stripped out the motor, took cover off, absolutely credit with muck and old grease.
Cleaned out, dried and refilled with lithium grease. Reassembled, refitted and all working fine. Forgot to take photos after cleaning.

If this happens to you when I opened up the tailgate the motor was hot. Think this was caused by trying to switch on and try freeing.
Hope this helps someone. Jim A

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Caused by water running down the shaft where the seal fails. Lucky you caught it. Warm can become hot and hot can burn. Thanks for showing your fix.
