Screen washers

I only have the passenger side working, I have made sure that the bottle is full, I have poured hot water over it, and stuck sewing needle up the jets. Am I right in thinking that all that stuff covering the bonnet has to come off if it needs fixing ? Basically what I have done is my mechanical limitations.🤣

Buy one of those tins of compressed air or go to garage and shoot the air down the jet. Might work if its a blockage

I would suggest a sewing needle is too large in diameter to fully clear the jet, I have always found that a single strand from a Bowden cable, i.e from a cycle brake or gear change cable, this will go right through the jet and into the pipe, you may find that you may have to insert it more than once to fully clear it as the blockage may not break up and clear on a single insertion. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I had no luck getting the washer to work so took it to the garage. It was the plastic bit joint looking thing, one way valve that was bust. They fitted a new one and all working again.

I had the same issue on my Jag XKR. I didn't appreciate that one way valves were fitted to stop the fluid draining back to the reservoir till then 🤔

Glad you got it fixed. What you need to do now is to carefully aim the passenger side washer a bit more to the left and give it a blast when those annoying cyclists creep up between you and the kerb.
