Just a quick report back. It might be to early to conclude, but so far things looks good. The earlier daily fob #1 has been stoved away in an RFID bag and tin can since Thursday. I have replaced (soldered in) a new battery in fob #2 and now uses this one daily. I have not had any issues with windows down or short range so far! I just hope this lasts and problem solved.
I connected my diagnosis pad and scanned for fault codes. Several modules that had a temporary "misconnection" stored, including the lock module. Codes erased. For all I know, there is a bad earth somewhere??
