Passenger airbag

Some advice please on a 2014 GS - came with both key fobs, but both are missing the emergency key. I'm prepared to risk living without them - never used one on my previous Freelanders. However, the passenger airbag is set to 'off'. Given that I often have passengers, and never have small children in the front, is there a way to reactivate the airbag without the key?

Thank you.

You could try something key shaped. I can't believe LR would have actually used a high security lock for the passenger airbag disable switch.
Alternatively you'll probably have to simply link out the connections on the back, but I don't know if the switch is normally open or normally closed, but that's easy to check with a digital multi-meter. A warning though. Only play with airbag system wiring after the battery has been disconnected for at least 30 minutes. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Thanks for that. I'll try your first suggestion, and if that fails pass the problem to my friendly independent mechanic.

That worked - thank you. Experience has taught me to ignore the simplest solution, so a lesson learned.
