Modern Freelander alternative?

Quite like the rugged looks of this. Pity no diesel option and can only tow 1 ton. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

My vote for upcoming FL2 EV candidate is The Kia EV5.

If you squint, it has the FL2 shape, and is definitely the same size.

and a video (in my preferred colour)

 FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

With traffic calming lumps in the road and elevated zebra crossings every 100m needing up and down the box out here, I wouldn't entertain any car that wasn't automatic or gearless. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

As FORD was the designer, builder of our FL2's, it can only be the Ford Bronco.

I saw two of these earlier this year, imported and registered with Brit plates.

Sadly only (currently) available in LHD

I would buy one !!!!

Hyundia/Kia use a common EV platform for their EV Cars.

The EV5 will be available with 2 driven axles, and even with time (perhaps) a high performance 'N'/GT version.

EV5 looks good on video albeit cannot tell height from ground - don’t think it has the ‘command’ drivers vision Freelander has. 2011 XS,Sumatra Black, GONE MARCH 2014- RR Evoque Prestige 5 door ,MY 2014,Loire Blue, Silver Roof, Panoramic roof.

The EV5 is about the same height as the FL2, as is it's general size. -- 1715mm (1740mm)

I will have to wait to see if the actual seating position is indeed as good as the FL2.
