Need a bit more info here. What's the reason for you turning it over by hand? Had something else failed or were you replacing a timing belt? (Does the I6 have a timing belt or chain?) Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Car was not starting so we thought it's the starter motor and we romped the starter and turn the flywheel to see whether it's seized or not but then it was turning and at some point it got stucked plus you can hear that something is inside the engine something rattling |

Not many I6 engines in the UK. Nearly diesels here.

Could it be bits of starter motor gear rattling inside the bell housing ? - just guessing - would be rather unusual. Is the starter motor intact and working normally? Jules |
