I was driving back home yesterday, doing round 55mph, when out of the blue the engine died, no warning lights. now it won't start, cranks fine, dash lights up as per norm. Ive read that if the fuel gauge is showing quarter of a tank, it could be the low pressure pump in the tank not transferring the fuel to the other side of the hump in the tank.

I would suspect Sensor Failure (Crank?).

No OBD code, Ive changed the fuel filter but still no go, when I bought the filter the tech said that it could be the fuel pressure sensor, I've put more fuel in. the fuel gauge reads as it should with the amount of fuel I've put in

When you crank the engine, do you get any RPM reading on the tacho? If the CPS system is ok you should see around 250 RPM, if nothing shows then it is more than likely a faulty CPS, they don’t always give an error code in my experience. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Hi Kev.
It's been two weeks now since this happened, did you solve it ? did the fuel filter get primed properly, and did you use a good one.
