Engine Wiring harness test/repair help - P0045-19 | |
Hi all
I bought a 2007 diesel auto a few years back as a wee bit of a project car…. Fully expecting issues I could build up my spanner skills on….
However, I’ve been plagued by a cut out issue for a while now… stated off quite intermittent, happens all the time now.
I’ve tried all the usual fixes from fuel filters to crank shaft sensors, also replaced throttle body, turbo, EGR, cooler, fuel pressure sensor, regulator, fuel tank plus senders, HPFP, leak off valve, injectors tested fine etc.
In short, the engine will cut out… the fuel pressure drops and engine dies. It will always log a P0045-19 fault code… occasionally low fuel rail pressure fault codes too, but the turbo one is constant. I’ve had 2 replacement turbo actuators and now a 3rd with a new remanufactured turbo - sorted some other issues (yap noise) but not conk out. I have also replaced about 30cm of the turbo actuator wiring and connector as there were a few sliced wires, but no cure.
Given the mechanical fixes with no cure, I’m getting down to it being electrical…
Can anyone offer guidance on how I might test / examine to narrow down this issue?
Was thinking of stripping out the engine wiring harness to inspect - any suggestions or is the Workshop manual best to follow?
The harness I have is 7G92-12A690 CBF…. I can see the same numbers but CAF or CAB… Stupid question but do the letters matter if I’m replacing?
Any suggestions or advice?
Thanks in advance!
Andy
