2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Gear linkage possible easy fix

I know thisis on the general thread but im hoping i have found an easy fix for that pesky gear linkage that sits on that ball pivot that eventually comes off and you cant get any gears like what happened to me.

I have it secured with cable ties at the minute to stop the linkage popping off but i bought what i think is the perfect simple repair kit from a Transit.

looks the same as what is already there just mine is worn

the new one looks the same size but its not what is in the picture, in fact the one i have seems to be a better version as a plastic clip is used on the top to hold the plastic linkage in position

Has anybody had experience removing the old one and is it just a case of pushing in those white pieces on the top and the rest just drops out?
