Ok chaps, thanks for all the support over the years. Feel like I have lost my right arm when I parted with my FL2 yesterday which I have had for 14 years. 160k on the clock and has never let me down. Did not have much service history as I never went near a garage much, but was well serviced and problems fixed along the way following great advice from members of this group. I think it will do another 160k.

But the credit must go to my old mate, Steve Lightfoot, who was a motor mechanic. When I purchased the vehicle which was 2 years old at the time, I said to him I want to run this into the ground. Steve died about 3 years ago... Top man for sure.

I take possession of a new Discovery Sport petrol hybrid today.

I think petrol is the only sensible option for a DS given the diesel reputations for being ! and ulez expansion.
