So after investigation my steering rack needs to be replaced.
When doing this are there any other components worth replacing while its out?
Steering rack pipes? Which ones? There seem to be a few.
Tie rod ends are brand new.
Perhaps new reservoir tank?

Depends on how corroded or not the pipes are, as a minimum you need to replace the Res tank.

Is your rack leaking, just wondering what are the problems with it

The one pipe where it connects to the rack with the metal tinfoil protection is leaking. The rest look fine. However its the inside of the pipe that deterioates and gives the problem I hear. The car is 2010 and has 260km on the clock.

Other that the leak on the pipe what is actually wrong with the rack

Lots of play on wheels when pushing at 9and 3pm. Knocking aounds inside the rack when steering wheel is moved side to aide.
Swaying when cornering.
