Alarm problem

Freelander 2 2010 Td4
Intermittent alarm fault?
Battery is good, alarm will sound intermittently for no reason?
Faulty door lock? Any ideas, please? Thx

First thing I would do is remove the cover from the sensor on the roof lining and give it a good clean out also un lip the wiring connector to it and plug it back in I seem to remember this causing problems a quick search should bring something up.

Was the back up battery for the sounder located under the engine scuttle panel when mine started doing it.

I have over the year both of the above fail, easy fix for bonnet sensor
is to unplug it and put a bridge in. DAVE.

So at 6:00 am this morning alarm goes off goes out in me shreddies to unlock car will not lock again so went back to bed, later checked all doors were closed got in turned ign on no warning light on dash, got out car then locked ?? so suspecting bonnet switch/sensor, but I have heard it could be the hot weather??

Never had this before and in 8 years of ownership only ever had a couple of headlight bulbs go,
Is there any other common cause for this? 2013 FL2 XS.

Of the 3 causes of false alarms posted above, I feel that the Interior Volume Alarm is the the most likely.
A build up of dust, or perhaps an over-friendly spider, the most likely culprit.

I think that Single Locking the car will not set Volumetric Alarm, so could be tried if problem persists.

I always thought that the Bonnet Alarm Sensor showed up whilst trying to lock car, but all 3 causes mentioned could turn out to be the problem. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Yes I did think that it could be a spider but will have wait and see if it doe's it again and check for bonnet open on the dash. Thanks. 2013 FL2 XS.

I have read, that the bonnet sensor as it gets old can be a tad touchy,
enough for the alarm to sound as the bonnet metalwork moves with the heat of
the morning sun.
I did park where the sun didn't hit the front end to early and it all appeared ok,
so I bypassed the sensor, result all OK since. DAVE.

OK update on this did not double lock and alarm went of again early morning, so must be the bonnet switch/sensor so I have now bypassed this with the paperclip trick so wait and see what happens ?
However I intend to replace the switch?catch but how the hell do you get the cable off??? 2013 FL2 XS.
