Owner history check.

Ok, so my brother is looking at buying a Range Rover Sport Autobiography. He's found the exact one he wants, but is put off by the number of keepers - quite rightly.
I have done a check on line to make sure it wasn't written off, had outstanding finance etc and this is where the 7 keepers were flagged up. However, going in to depth , it seems to jump from the first keeper to keeper number 4, totally bypassing keepers 2 and 3.
Any idea why this might be ? Passed around the trade ,perhaps ??

Go on line and check its MOT history thats what I do, any vehicle with a load of ignored advisories year after year avoid as it is clearly not looked after, a clean history of MOT gives an insight of how its been cared for.

I recently was interested in a Twin plenum Rover SD1 3.5 Vitesse advertised as "rust free and well looked after" until I put the reg in to the DVLA MOT database to find it had a series of fails on corrosion and other faults so not going near it now. 2013 FL2 XS.
Defender 90 300 TDi.
Defender 90 300 TDi CSW.
1964 MGB Roadster.
1944 Willys MB "Jeep" with bullet holes. (gone)
17 hand Irish Drought Thoroughbred (mostly lame)
Nagging Old Boiler.

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

My Metro has a missing owner, it was originally owned by JLR and it was during this time it seems to have changed hands once without much, if any, trace of ownership. I was the 4th owner in its first 3 years.
I will examine my documents again to see if I can get a clue.
I always thought that it had changed designation for something like tax reasons. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Am not sure about advisories. I brought a car from a garage which had a chip in the windscreen , they said it did not count as it was not in the zone. Took it back to same garage a year later for an mot, they gave me an advisorie on the mot for the chip in the screen. Next year took it somewhere else for an mot and no mention of the chip in the screen and we hadn’t got a new screen. I think half of them depend on if the mot tester likes you or is having a bad day.

All MOT have guide lines that must be followed by, therefore if a MOT tester likes you or is having a bad day is not part of the test, and if you think something wrong complain to the right authority so they can be looked into.
