Had the embarrassment yesterday of not being able to start in Asda's car park. Usual sluggish turning over until it decides not to at all. Yesterday was the first time I had used the A/C in anger, I give it a turn over every few months to hopefully keep things free.
Have had battery problems in the past, this FL2 and the previous one. I know I am not alone in this and the problem is part of owing such a vehicle.So a few questions.

1. Car has not had a lot short runs and starts on the button, well until yesterday would the A/C make that much difference as it was only on for about 15min time taken to get to Asda?

2. Chap who came out to it and jump started it used a NOCO power booster which he said were good the one he used the GB150 he said started a lorry no problem so my vehicle a cinch. Has anyone any experience of this make? I have looked on Amazon and most reviews are favourable with a few exceptions. I did have a power booster years ago which was a useless piece of junk so am considering getting a decent one just for piece of mind.

3. I am not convinced the battery, only 18 mths old, is as it should be. Two things are in my mind not right. Measuring across the battery with a battery charger working I got 12.9V but measuring across positive and chassis I get 13V. why the increase of 0.1V? I have the additional earth lead as recommended. And now I noted that on starting the charger the voltage across the battery rose to 13.2V but has now dropped back to 12.8V and not budging. New battery time I assume as something amiss.

If its any help, my 2014 SD4 has stood for nearly 2 weeks and Im getting 12.6v on the bluetooth volt meter that is permanently attached.

As an update all of a sudden it started charging as I would expect . Charger said was full after only 2 hours saying was 100% charged. Voltage now reading 13V so I will see tomorrow what it has gone down to. After 2 weeks 12.6v sounds just fine to my mind

I have a Noco will start up to a 7ltr diesel it holds its charge for ever and is well worth having in the car.

Which model have you got?

My Battery Charger and Booster, they work very well and keep me going.

The Battery Booster fits easily into the rear door pocket, and has started many cars in distress.

People I've helped are always surprised how small and efficient it is. (the battery booster)

The 2.2 Diesel needs the 1500 model.

The Battery Charger can sort out any 12v or 6v battery, including Lithium.

Once had to jumpstart myself, was pushing the old starter battery to see how long its life would be. Jump started from the 4 x 26AH gel batteries which are mostly used for the fridge.

Instant starting, no fluffing around for 15 minutes with a lithium jumper pack.

Just plug myself in with Anderson 175 amp plugs setup at both ends.

Try running your fridge for a week from a lithium pack, not possible. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

When our one is sorned I put a noco charger on every month or 3 weeks to keep it topped up never takes long till it’s finished it’s charging. Even at the moment it’s not moved for over a couple of weeks it will still start ok.

Have odered a new battery as well as one on car is not charging correctly. Charger say fully charged when voltage is 14.8 v. Disconnect charger voltage drops to 12.7v then shortly after continues to fall so mught have buggared it Saturday.
