Hi all, looked through search but can't find anything to match so here goes.... When driving along ( not pulling away ) on occasions when accelerating to pass something or hit hill ( we have a few over here) I get a dreadful noise like something slips ( not haldex ) but a yeeeeeek yeeeeeeeek then it goes.

Is it the 1800RPM (Turbo Vane?) clatter noise. --- at least I know what mine is now. I was thinking something loose around the exhaust, all very tinny , but a quick google says loads of turbos seems to get caught with this.

Firstly diolch for replies and apologies for lack of response ( back in hospital for bit) anyways, definitely not A//C, doesn't sound like a belt, no management lights, no limp mode, nothing coming up on local garage fault computer, new hose, checked for harmonicas none there.

I had 'musical' whistling at higher speeds on my Vauxhall Signum, it turned out to be my Exhaust Shield was coming loose as the screws wore through the shielding material. A few 'Penny Washers' fixed it back in position. What happens if you lock it in gear using Command Shift, and put your foot on and off the accelerator reasonably hard and quick. That will stress test the transmission.
