FL2 Turbo Intercooler hose split (Again!) - 3rd time lucky

Hi guys. This evening driving home I suddenly started hearing that dreaded wooshing sound coming from under the bonnet whilst accelerating. Its happened to me a number of times now, so much so that I keep a set of the two rubber hoses, and the plastic long part, with the spare wheel. The top hose split last time approx 2mths ago - replaced this with a silicone one. Now its the bottom rubber hose thats split, and looks like been blowing oily residue out. Looks like a Censored to get too Censored Any tips or ideas? and any thoughts on why one (or both) keep failing? is it a known issue with FL2? As always, cheers for any advise thanks. Current Vehicles:

Mine split a while back and is currently taped up. What make did you fit and or does anyone recommend a particular make as a replacement as genuine is around £160 quid. Ive heard various stories of some cheaper ones not fitting or blowing off under boost. As always your input is gratefully recieved.

I had to do these a couple of weeks ago on my daughters FL2.
I took the front bumper off as it was easy to do (after watching a video on line) just to get to the Hose Clip on the inter cooler.

I've had 2 fail on me, first was replaced with a Britpart one which only lasted a year. I bought the next one from LR dealer but it wasnt a genuine part. I replaced them with silicone now. Front bumper off is the only way to do the lower hose, access to the jubilee clip is next to impossible without it. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies. The top one I managed to replace myself - although didnt half bruise my arms in the process. When the lower one split some months earlier.....my local garage said that they had to take the bumper off. Might be tempted to have a go myself if the bumper is not to bad to get off.
