United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Firenze Red

I paid about £12 for each of my front ones. But the prices now wanted for the rears are simply outrageous. 3 or 4 times what I paid.

Id leave them off. Jules

Seems such an odd thing to be on back order and so much more expensive. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎

Hey folks. Whilst replacing much of my rear brakes, it was clear the dust shields had seen much better days. Was in a hurry to get the car back on the road so didnt do anything about them, but now that I know, I do want to change them while I’m off during the summer.

First question is - is it worth replacing them/having them at all? There seems to be debate over whether not having them is an MOT fail.

Second question - where can you get them? I’ve only found one supplier selling genuine LR ones for about £130. But every other dust shield (like front ones for the FL2) are like £15-20 each. But finding rear ones is like hens teeth. I’ve seen people say they can also use Ford ones but no concrete part numbers for a 2014 FL2. I’ve been caught out with stuff not fitting my car where sites say it fits a 2014 but in fact doesn’t, so I’m far more wary now 😂

recent ones I changed were stamped with FoMoCo on them
