I was doing some sound deadening at the back of the car under the rear window, and found a connector hanging there, curious to what it is for?

That's an odd place for a spare connector, especially if everything is working.
There wasn't a camera option until 2013 IIRC. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Interesting, maybe I should try to find out if I can get a camera connected to it then, I got some after market one that I haven't put in as I couldn't be bothered wiring the whole thing up, but if the wires are there that changes things

That is part of the tailgate switch wiring loom. 2013 FL2 XS.

It's all part of the loom, tailgate handle and camera.

Your car is 07, surely if someone has gone to all the trouble of fitting the loom all the way back to the screen, then there would be a camera fitted.

My question would be, is it the original tailgate?

Someone has replaced the tailgate switch in the past which is a common fault, looks like a later switch was used to replace it and the camera connection would have come with it. 2013 FL2 XS.
