ABS Fault. I think this could be a faulty wheel speed sensor or the wiring to a wheel sensor? Have you checked all the tyres are inflated the same? 2012 SD4 HSE Orkney Grey |

It might well have been if you’d used a code reader that reads the full code rather than just the first 6 characters. |

ok so i thought i would update this ,if it helps anyone. Had the codes read, abs sensors all ok .seems the abs pump module has an internal pressure switch,so new/repaired unit needed, much money!! so i decided to try something ,whilst the engine was running i tapped the abs unit /pump with a steel bar/hammer as to shock it and the 3 dash lights went off and so far have stayed off? my theory is the pump brushes are low or stuck with carbon build up ,no pump, no pressure, the tap released the stuck brush and pump ran, resulting in built pressure? early days yet but i really hope its worked and saved my old man a wedge of cash he doesnt have...... |

A hammer usually cures most things! My advice would be to do what few owners of older cars do, and that is to flush the brake fluid right through to clear out the silt that settles inside the system over time. its recommended to do it every two years for a reason. |

I agree give it a quick bleed with fresh fluid and hopefully it will remove debris from ABS pump

Don’t the pump /modules need coding to the vin ? |

Yes but compared to buying a new abs pump it’s a much cheaper option and anybody with decent diagnostic software would be able to code it |

Are you sure a second hand ABS module can be recoded? It's been tried using SDD, and it doesn't work. It seems only virgin ABS modules can be coded to a vehicle, at least that's how I've read it. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I’ve done a few on VAG vehicles no problem so you might be right as I’ve never done a JLR but I’m sure there are there is people that can rebuild the original fairly cheaply so still better than buying a new one |
