Yes the 2.0L DS engine has problems, so isn't high on the reliability tables.

The 2.2 diesel in the early discovery sport is the same as fitted to the FL2. It is NOT an Ingenium! That is an only 2.0 litre. |

Get the 2.0L Ford Ecoboost petrol engine, a bit thirsty with city driving, the Australian outback very economical, but no complaints otherwise. It's a nice engine on so many levels. My Sister has the diesel engine in her Evoque... a tractor. Can't see why people buy a diesel unless driving a road train. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I’ve heard those engines referred to as Ecoboom because they blow up |

No, that’s the 1.0 litre with the wet cam belt. |

I had a DS when they first came out, it was a good car however the ingenium diesel engine suffers badly from oil dilution I was always in and out for oil changes as part of their goodwill program. Got rid as soon as the 3 Years was up.

The 2.2 should be OK as it is the same as the FL2 2.2 make sure it as a good service history. DO NOT get a later one with the 2.0 Diesel as this is the unreliable INGENIUM engine. 2013 FL2 XS. Think the 2.2 diesel fitted in early Disco Sport is EU5, which may be an issue if you live near a ULEZ. |

Just checked autotrader. All 2.2 Disco Sports are 15 plate and EU5. |
