Hi, my son has a 1996 Porsche 911 993 and one of the CV joint boots/bellows/gaiters on a half shaft has perished and split. The normal fix is to remove the half shaft and replace as usual but I came across this and wondered if anyone on here has tried them?

In my experience they won't last until the next MOT.

Hi, I used a glue one on a Discovery and it was still ok after 3 yrs. Maybe I was just lucky. |

My son has decided to get one of these split bellows for the Porsche. It's on a classic car and only does about 1800 miles per year and never goes out in the wet. The worst that can happen is that we have to do it properly next time although we are not too keen on undoing the hub nut which is done up to about 400 nm. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
