Hi everyone .

I know this forum leans more towards road going Freelander 2's, but hopefully one or two of you enjoy seeing a Freelander 2 used mildly for some medium off road use.

Another year had rolled around and another great Freelander 2 Off Road Group annual meetup was had. What had been a very wet and windy April, we got very lucky with a nice sunny and calm day in the old quarry. It never fails to amaze me how capable these cars are when you head off road! I once saw a sticker on a car that said, "remember stupid, you've got to drive this home." So between Alana and I, we kept it fairly mild with what we got up to seeing as it was over a 3 hour drive each way.

We took the GoPro along with us and captured a few of the antics throughout the day.



Oh, and if you want to know what happens to a Freelander 2 when you drive it down a rather steep hill, Alana gave it a go.

Nope. It's something I quite enjoy about the Falken Wildpeaks. Pump them up to 36 psi and leave them there no matter if we are doing many miles on road or having fun offroad. Currently with our so called winter temperatures. As per my TPMS my Pirelli AT tyres are at 27psi (might drop to 24psi. Potholes are out of hand).

We have survived Sydney's potholed goat tracks. My brother in-law with rubber band tyres has destroyed 2 tyres & thus destroyed 2 rims. Almost makes a tyre look cheap!

P.S. Would have upgraded to 17" non Poodle, but the price down under was out or hand for 6 rims. Cost AU$800 for the sixth rim (second spare) I bought for the outback. You need to carry 2 spares, plugs & compressor/s (I have 3 ARB compressors in parallel, up to 90 amps, 28 seconds 20 to 35 PSI per tyre). Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
