How do I remove the passenger front headrest for an impending ikea trip ?

As I remember there are 2 plastic buttons at the base where the metal bars are push them in and pull the headrest up.

Yes, there are two buttons. One is protruding and upon pressing, you can lower the headrest. Raising it,: just pull upwards on the head rest.
Taking it completely off demands you both press the button, and on the other side press a countersunk button, so both at the same time. I did anyway. Lift upwards, and it's off.
