Whenever I've got new tyres fitted I always tell the bloke doing the tyres you can use the impact BUT use your muscles for the final touch up. That way a normal person can change his wheel if he ever gets a flat and is not stranded by the side of the road waiting for whoever to come change his/her tyre.

England 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Santorini Black

This sounds like a joke but it it true. Some time in the mid 1960's I came across a Fiat 500 by the side of the road and two nuns trying to change a wheel. The F 500 used bolts instead of wheel nuts and they were rusted in solid. I offered to help change the wheel and promptly bent the wheel brace but with a bit of muscle and my proper wheel brace I manage to undo the bolts and change the wheel and it knackered me. The nuns were grateful and asked if there was anything they could do for me so I said they could pray for me, and they did.

Back to the present. I use a local mobile tyre fitter and he does it all "proper" with a torque wrench and likes you to watch while he explains what he is doing.
