Ive been running Nokian Weatherproof. Rather OTT as we've had only minimal snow here in North Warwickshire for years. They might make 30K miles but I doubt it, as they are looking a bit tatty at 26K miles - a lot of fine surface cracks. I won't be buying them again as I think they dont suit our warming climate.
They used to be made in Finland but mine were made over the border in Putinland. Jules

Tyre manufacturers do deals with car makers to have their tyres as OEM, knowing that most customers stick with the same tyres (until the vehicle is old) and continue to pay high prices even when there are perfectly good cheaper alternatives. Jules

To me tyre choice is more important than just price and maximum wear.

The four relatively small contact patches to the road are all that keeps you safe.

I believe that the UK's Moderate but Wet Climate is ideal for All Season Tyres, and have a good look at the different tyre reviews and gradings (especially wet grip/braking).

I found that this Which? Magazine article was handy to start to understand what was on offer.

I chose Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season (Volvo Spec) as for some reason (I know not why) they had a better Wet Grip (A) than JLR Spec.

4 year old Pirelli Scorpion Zero developed cracks in the channels between tread blocks and went hard. I replaced them with Michelin Crossclimate2. Now so much better.

Sid, would you know what sort of mileage you'll get out of these, I've AT3's on at the moment with 45 thousand on them and will probably need a change soon, probably around the 50 thousand mark.

I put BF Goodrich tyres on our F2 and I'm happy with them as we live up a private road with slight ruts and on road they are good too
