Never seen or heard of such a Freelander 2. Unless some enthusiastic owner has retro fitted it?

Are you sure that it isn't referring to the Rotary Traction Control Knob.

Depends on how 'late' it is, latest models have push button terrain response rather than the rotary dial. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Just to close this discussion off, the vehicle was withdrawn from sale so I never got to view it. But going by the registration number it was a 2011 HSE so would have had the rotary terrain response control and the normal command shift auto lever.
