When pulling up the speaker grills. Pull up sharp, fast & firmly. If you pull up timidly you are more likely to break the plastic support for the metal clips on the underside of the speaker grill. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

It has been a while since I fitted one of these eBay clips - but from memory the clear plastic thing is a friction pad to stiffen the "motion" when adjusting the air vent... Before installing, if you split the 2 parts of the clip apart, the clear plastic thing goes inside the vane gap on the "shiny silver plastic bit" with the u-shaped edge facing out so that it rubs against the edge of the middle vertical vane in the car's vent fitting once fitted. ![]() I have to admit I'm fairly confident the friction pad went up the vaccuum cleaner hose a few weeks after being installed - but the clip still works, it just moves a little too freely when adjusting... Lesson learned - I stopped vaccuuming the interior in case anything important disappears in future... Good Luck! |
