As mentioned it is the missfueling device look down the filler neck if you can see a bright yellow flap with a image of the handbook on it that's what it is,

You chaps where correct looks like I need the fuel reset tool! Don't even have a wire coat hanger but found one on amazon for £8.50 |

Petrol nozzle is smaller diameter about 21mm, diesel is about 24mm. The smaller diameter nozzle triggers the device. Look for a funnel where spare tyre is located, usually provided with JLR cars which has the larger diameter (24mm) it allows emergency fueling from pump or jerry can as an extra to the reset device. |
