Hi, I’ve recently picked up a 2011 HSE, as a 2nd car, actually a 2nd Freelander 2 to go with our 2013 dynamic
Think in general I’ve picked a good un- once it had the mother of all Valets!
Well serviced car underneath the dirt,
One thing that is a big step back, having not had an older FL2 for so long, is the infotainment system.
Being the HSE it’s got the alpine and navigation, but thought all the HSEs in 2011 had DAB?
I get the DAB logo on boot, on the head unit, but can’t select the band on cycling the FM digital button.
Before I take out all the trim in the boot and inspect- is the boot up logo a good indication that it’s fitted, but maybe the unit has failed?

Had a good look through the threads using the search but couldn’t see the particular answer, so apologies if I’ve missed it.

It will or rather should have a DAB Unit. I had trouble with mine so replaced it with one from a scrappy, it worked.

If memory serves it is under the boot nearside panel

Certainly enough encouragement to give it a go, few guides on getting to it, I’ll pick up a unit just in case from eBay.
Worth a shot, as system sounds great otherwise, on a par with the meridian system on my dynamic

If you have the DAB splash on booting, then it has DAB. For reference, my 2006 HSE i6 didn't have DAB, just logic 7. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll get a replacement from eBay and share my results. Hopefully helps the next person!
