Bought a roll of flyscreen mesh to re-mesh flyscreens. Instructions said clean flyscreens once a week. One every six months if I'm extremely keen.

Mattress, turn & rotate once a month. Maybe there is a different reason for this!

& I don't clean the fridge once a week either. Even the permanently on fridge in the car barely gets a clean. Probably almost blow the dust out of the condenser more often. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I think the turn and rotate the mattress has gone out the window, many mattresses only one way up, another id check and clean the dishwasher filter. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

We use Flymo push mowers (not sold in Australia anymore), have another three spare mowers for parts, but basically they seem to level the grass without effort!

In relation to instructions (maybe for leveling grass). Opening a milk carton, 50% of the time I get it wrong. It says 'open other end'. Other end says push flaps back to open.

Alzheimer's disease unfortunately is clouding the technical issues of pushing flaps back, needs more more clarity. A few decades ago quickly reading instructions had a clear understanding to get the task sorted out without yapping from other half to hurry up. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I think it's actually every month, and being an ex firefighter, yes I do.

However, life is too short for most of the "do's & dont's" on instructions. That's if you can read them because they are so small and written in 5 7 different languages, or be bothered to use the flashcode to download them.....

You only need to unclip them changing the battery, you just press the button usually in the middle, but they really should be checked with a smoke canister, however the toaster does the same job.  my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

The problem with the high frequency alarm warning of smoke detectors, the alarm frequency for older (me included) people simply can't hear it. Probably the cohort that needs it most.

I was regularly at my parents house, smoke detectors (plural) screaming due to carbonized food on stove or oven.

I ended up wearing earmuffs everytime I went into my parents home... why are you wearing earmuffs... background noise!

Elders can't hear the fridge door open for too long alarm either... or seatbelt not on alarm for that matter. Same with elder neighbours & friends.

Seems to be a major basic design failure. Easy fix, lower alarm frequency to less than 3kHz.

Simples! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I must be very nerdy...
I change the mower & rotavator oil every year - cos there is no filter. I also sharpen and balance the blades.
