Of the £x million losses, I imagine that a fair amount can also be attributed to the development costs of new XJ. And yes there will probably be more pain to follow , regardless how good the new stuff is...

Have JLR sold Browns Lane yet, or will the cash from that sale still be claimed by Ford? Otherwise there could be a new housing estate in Solihull with names like Defender Close, Discovery Mews and Range Rover Road - hope this won't happen I'm just drawing parallels to when Jag closed the Radford plant in the 90's...

Could see Whitley going though. I think other than some engine stuff and Ian Callum's personal crayon collection, I don't think much else goes on there that couldn't be carried out at Gaydon. Nice access to A45/6 etc for any potential purchaser

And agree with LR2m. Govt are being a right bunch of winkers, promising loans and support yet delivering 5/8ths of feck all! Again. For a change.
