He probably meant baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). I have seen video's were they use that to polish headlight.

So you can just change the units for xenons, use the thumbwheel to adjust height ? No need for the leveling arms front and back.? Do you need headlight washers for the mot too ?

Yes you do need headlight washers for the MOT if you move to HID. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

Only if the light output is above 2000 lumens, this is the OEM legislation, hence why some lower models like the Fiesta with HiDs as standard come without washers, they are lower powered HiD bulbs. Regards

The current Fiesta ST has a LED headlight option , not sure if it ever had a HiD option.

Do LEDs not need washers ? Jules

The earlier Fiesta had them for sure, not sure which one now but long before LED ever popped up.

LED are different technology and the beam can be accurately focused so washers are not such a necessity, as such I believe legislation does not require them.

Please bare in mind I have been out of vehicle development since retired in 2012 so not up in the latest standards.

Thumbs Up Regards

David

Thanks for that info

I assume then that the units on HSE Lux and Metropolis give out more than 2000 lumens ? FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

There are very few units that give less and do not require washers, it was mainly a marketing exercise. Regards

Just a question - I have a 2011 facelift model with D1S Xenon globes in. I tried Osram cool Blue Boost Xenarc and LED globes. Light quality is very bad. Need help please?
Regards
