United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

It needs a replacement gearbox if the splines are stripped. It's also possible to have the gearbox repaired, but that'll cost more than replacing the box with a working second hand one. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

Damnit, how hard is it to remove gearbox?
Could i theoretically weld the ptu sleeve onto the gearbox?
Would it last? Cause vibrations?
Yes that would be a dumb fix but the car is very cheap so...

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Baltic Blue

After all the great information on here I contacted Bell Engineering about a replacement for my Freelander's PTU. Turns out they're booked up for the next 3 months! They're happy to send me a reconditioned PTU and I just have to find someone who can do the work for me.. If anyone has recommendations for places around north London that would be greatly appreciated. Barnet to be exact.

Latvia 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Santorini Black

Good day to everyone who has dealt with PTU replacement.

The splines of my 2008 freelanders' PTU shaft as well as sleeve are gone, therefore I am planning to use Christmas holidays to replace both the sleeve and PTU. Finally received a brand new sleeve (manual gearbox), I have found a reconditioned PTU nearby. I have also ordered a LR000771 and LR002928 seals as well as ptu oil.

Is there anything missing from here? I've seen another seal that is installed in automatic gearbox sleeve itself, but I can't seem to find one for manual.
