Britpart service kits.

I've had this filter kit in my watch list for some time but always held off buying it because of concerns regarding the fuel filter and problems with non oem versions.
I contacted Craddocks and they confirmed that the Coopers filter is actually made by Purflux who make the genuine LR boxed part.
Just thought it might be of interest to some. I'd happily use all the other aftermarket filters.

I'll give it a go next service time I think.

The biggest cost is labour.
As i do my own servicing i always buy genuine filters for around £90 for everything including fuel filter, so with oil i can do service for about £150 which I'm happy with.
Personally i don't use non genuine stuff and the car is better for it Wink

Whilst I understand the need for a purflux ( or other branded fuel filter made by purflux with the correct internals ), the subject of genuine or non genuine parts always makes me chuckle.
The other day my parcel of service goodies for the ride on mowers for my neighbours and myself arrived. My neighbour had said he would prefer me to fit genuine parts on his mower. My NGK spark plugs turned up in a nice little box with a cardboard sleeve over the electrode. My neighbours Briggs & Stratton branded spark plug came loose with no protection at all. The B & S plug cost 40 pence more than the equivalent NGK plug.
I queried this with the supplier ( whilst trying to resolve the missing oil filter from a genuine John Deere service kit for another neighbour, but that's another story regarding genuine parts which is still unresolved ) who said Briggs supply the plugs in bulk boxes with no packaging.
It did make me wonder where the B & S spark plug factory was located?, Or their oil filter factory ......
Sometimes less is more .......

JLR just get the parts put into a JLR box with a JLR part number and then charge us the earth for the privilege of buying them. Much better to go to the OEM and buy parts made to the same specifications.

Yes that's what I'm saying. Happy to use other brand oil / air filters etc. My only hesitation was the fuel filter because these are known for giving problems if not OEM. We know that Purflux is the OEM for the genuine "Landrover " part so perfectly happy to buy a Coopers boxed version as it has been confirmed to be Purflux as well. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Have you tried the above kit?
Thinking of whether buying a genuine service kit or your ebay kit or advanced factors Mahle kit. You mentioned about the fuel filter problem if not genuine makes me hesitate.

IIRC, Purflux, Coopers Fiaam, Fram and others are owned by Sogafi. DAVE.
