I had a squeak in the rear of the car for a few years. Last year's car service I thought it would go. It didn't & has got gradually worse. Couldn't really work out the exact source while driving, but my gut feel it was the suspension.

The squeak turned out to be a 22g rock stuck in the suspension arm. The mechanic said there was no damage, but pointed out the polished part of the rock.

Squeak has now gone & grateful he didn't make up some BS story that half the car needed replacing.

There is an off-roading moral to this story Glad the squeak has gone, damned irritating things inexplicable squeaks and rattles.

Can't really fault the car. It's done 4,000km on corrugated roads, some of them rock strewn as well.

The only other squeak has been the roof rack. High density Teflon fixed that. Also strengthened the roof rack joins & connections (there are threads on the roof rack topic).
