I was going to add "...it will help when giving it a hard pull". But I refrained - knowing it would it would raise a titter or two just as it was. Laughing Jules

Mine was out for too long, nevertheless was a bit surprised how messy things were at first, but really shouldn't be surprised due to the high mileage on undulating surfaces & in less than ideal environments, eventually suffering from mid, possibly early life wear & tear. Anyway, easy to clean up & fortunately no signs of major damage. Almost forgot which way it when back in. Had to get my weight on top to push hard to get it back in the respective holes, which will probably get looser the more I do it. But these days probably only once a year or longer at the current rate I'm going. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

update to cover removal

As suggested good tug and got it off.
One reason was i had a bank 1 showing up on the Autel for a wee while.
Was going to get a new hose/cable? but one of my Freelander friends had the same fault.
Being a bit more mechanical minded than me he did investigation and found the connection at back of engine wasn't tight. So, after getting cover off i tried every connection i could see or reach.
Then did a full check on Autel. Cleared all faults and started again.
I have one fault which comes up as a start/stop fault permanent.
As mine is auto i just ignore it. Been there since i got the car
might be pure coincidence that the bank 1 fault has gone.
Will test again in about a weeks time.
Thanks to all who responded especially the comedians who are so NON-PC. Jim A
