Freelander 2 (2011) manual stuck gear when cold

Sorry for my bad english,
I have a problem with my Freelander 2 (138000 km).
Every morning is impossible to start in first and second gear or in reverse... I must to engage the third gear just for a moment and then I can engage the first gear or reverse normally.
With my mechanic we changed the old fluid with new correct oil and the level is correct too, but the problem persits.
It's perfect when warm... the problem occured only when cold.

Presuming that it is a manual gearbox, try lubricating the cables that transfer the movement of the gear selector to the quadrant on the gearbox. You’ll get better access if you remove the engine air filter box.

Yes Bossbob,
my Freelander is manual version. Thank you for your suggestion, this evening I'll try lubrificating the cable on the gearbox under the air filter box...
