Squeak when turning on AC

Hello,

I've noticed a squeak coming from the engine bay of my 2009 TD4.e when turning the air conditioning on - has anyone had any experience of this?

Thanks,
Simon

I don’t even us the AC in mine but would have thought it was the belt that drives the pump ?

From experience of the similar, could be the below.

Aux belt and tensioner needs changing
AC pulley bearing worn out (easy job to change)
AC pump on its way out
Alternator bearing worn out (easy enough to swap out with refurb’d unit)

If it’s a screech it’s normally the belt slipping on a pulley (due to it being worn or add. load from a worn out bearing), normally a bearing if it’s a mechanical squeak noise along with a rumbling noise and excessive belt/tensioner movement. I changed my ac pulley bearing which reduced the noise and belt movement but narrowed it down to the alternator being the main culprit. Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone

Thanks very much for coming back to me. Suspect it's time to get the aux belt changed
