Had 2 new after market front lower arms fitted last year, it feels horrible I feel every bump and pot hole in the road even tries to snatch the wheel out of my hand it just feels like the bushes are too soft, had it back twice for checking and alignment check but they say it's all ok, anybody else had this with non genuine arms, got it booked in at another firm tomorrow so see what they say.

It’s an 11 year old car. If all you’ve had changed are the lower arms surely that is going to magnify any faults in the rest of the suspension and steering.

Did you have the tracking checked
How about checking the track rod ends, particularly the stabiliser bar bushes and link arms

Which brand of arms did you fit? whats the milage? did you get all four wheels tracked? 2013 FL2 XS.

They fitted Meyle arms, it's been on Hunter twice, drove fine before, worn bushes picked up on service thats why the new arms where fitted.

New lower arms should improve the vehicle behaviour, not reduce it.
Makes me wonder if the correct alignment settings have been used. Mine was massively improved after new lower arms and a full alignment. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I agree with the above. New arms should make things much better.

Having just completed this task last weekend, even without the tracking being checked it feels so much better. If there is anything wrong it will be either the track rod ends or the upper shock mount bushings showing their age. It never ends....

What make of arm did you use? The arms on mine were fitted by by a very well respected indi. Just can't understand why it was ok before new arms fitted.

They were Meyle arms, along with ARB buses and link struts. H

Had 4 wheel alignment checked yesterday it was just a little bit out so they set it up but still the same!just feels like soft bushes in the arms, on a uneven road its all over the road steering wheel rocking about.

The steering is very direct, with good feedback of the road under the tyres. This can take some getting used too, but it's perfectly normal for this vehicle. I love the directness of the Freelander steering, it's so much more precise than the wife's Audi A5, which feels dull and unresponsive by comparison. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Weight of vehicle must be on suspension when tightening bolts, and theres a specific order to tightening as well,
worth a try...
