Brink Removable Towbar Fitted to HST

This post is in reply to pm questions that I am receiving

Yes . a removable towbar can be fitted to a HST (That is the body kit version)
Yes it was fitted by a Landrover Dealer (Perry's Luton and they have since closed)
Made by Brink and has a Landrover badge on it and may be called a BrinkMatic Advance , but not sure:

It is very difficult to photo a black vehicle but here is vehicle from eye level:

Eye level towbar fitted:

Now some low down pics with flash

Note that the FST bumper, already has a shaped cutout, which you cannot see from road view level and an additional small cut out, which you cannot see, was necessary for the swan neck.

Yes, there is a small cut out, but you can hardly see it unless ypou are very low down:

No I don't know the fitting cost, because it was part of the agreed sale package

This is a very neat package and feels of better quality than a Witter, that I also have on another vehicle

However, the locking key has snapped, because it was stored in my boot, with the key protruding.

No I dont have a part number and currently another dealer is needing to contact Landrover, because they cannot find it in their parts listing and I need a new key, to replace a broken key (Snapped because stored with key inserted and crushed)

It is very possible, that this is not a standard landrover part and maybe the dealer simply stuck a label on it. Who knows?

I do like it though ! Hope this helps

BrinkMatic Advance is marketed by Thule under thier brand name as well as Land Rover.
It appeares to be the same type as I have fitted on my FL2 without the HST body kit, but the bracketing may be slightly different Question

Pleased to see that someone has overcome what LR stated couldn't be offered as an option on the HST model due to what they considered to be difficult access to the detachable release mechanism. I did consider asking for this type of tow bar on my HST but was advised by the delership not to, basically as they were adhering to the LR rulebook?
I opted for the fixed bracket version - the one major advantage of which is the fact should the towball get worn (as they do) its £10 or so to buy a new one instead of forking out for the complete detachable part.

Do agree that white cover to 12S socket needs "toning" down by swopping for a grey or similar.

Yes and the bracket is bolted to the Brink female assembly, so I must assume that it is all part of the same package.

Why not just put a black waterproof cover over it, also stops the water getting in (a bit anyway). I have on mine and you don't notice it much unless you are looking for it. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

why have the twin electrics, these are being replaced with 13pin so better to have a converter to twin electrics and then be "13pin ready"

Possibly he thinks HST's are for speed freaks and that the whole towing thing goes against that.

Not all caravanners poodle along with out a care in the world (especially for the line of vehicles snaking behind them)
