Possible causes of this oil leak please ?

My 09 2.2 TD4 has an oil leak from the area in the photo, underneath the air intake section, before I start taking stuff to bits, is this a common or known issue ? Thanks in advance.

If its where the tube with the 4 organ pipes on joins the bit the goes down the side of the engine, then yes, replace the factory clamp with a jubilee type hose clip...

Hi Neil, bit confused as to how that will sort it ? If it’s an air intake, where’s the oil coming from to get there in the first place ?

There will always be a little oil in the intake system, but that connection is a known leak point.

There is no picture in your original post, so my reply is based on best guess...

But the issue has been discussed on this forum in the past. Worst case the oil can drip down onto the turbo, making things a bit smokey...!

Hi Neil, thanks, didn’t realise the photo hadn’t loaded, you are correct about the area I’m talking about, I will have another look tomorrow, cheers.

Oil from the breather system passes through the organ pipe tube to be burnt in the engine. However if the joint clamp doesn't clamp hard enough to prevent oil seepage, then it drips out and down the back of the engine. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
